Urban Transformers - user workshopsResearcher & facilitator / 2010 -2011
I wanted to co-design the Urban Transformers tool kit with the staff and participants of the program. Thus I designed a number of user participatory workshops where I had an opportunity to engage with different share holders. Through these workshops I explored the success and failures of the past programs and developed a new and improved curriculum. I also explored what leadership and activism ment to the participants and the staff members. The participants helped me to design the look of the kit and its contents, where the staff help design the programatic curriculum. The kit and curriculum are currently in their 3rd year of use and have evolved since 2010. The participants and staff still play an active role in revising and development the program and kit. |

Malmo University collaborated with WWF Sweden to do a project on sustainable transport. The project consisted on conducting ethnographic research and better understand the residences of Malmo. Then we proposed two main design ideas that would encourage these residences to choose more sustainable transport. The videos below show some of your research methods. |

Record revolverInteraction Design Masters / Malmo University 2010 Sweden
Designers: Orli, Max , Sergio, Matthew The Record Revolver was a project commitioned by Apokalyps Labotek Swedish produce designers. They wanted us to design a portable fabric printing machine based on critical design thinking. Our inspiration was a local techno DJ who produced all his music through anaolog machines. He felt that computers were diluting the music industry with DJ's that did not understand the craft. this lead us to looking at commercialization in the music industry. Thus we created a machine that would, using a computer program, translate your vinyl music into a t-shirt in a unique pattern. However while the music was being transferred the vinyl would be destroyed with acetone. The machine asked the question "what is the worth of ones music?" and weather the user was prepared to pay the price to have a cool t-shirt. |
THe cultural express-lineInteraction Design Masters / Malmo University 2010 Sweden
Designers: Orli For this project I wanted to stimulate dialogue around issues of cultural identity and human connection in the city of Malmo. I wanted to create a platform where people that would not normally communicate could connect. Thus feeling more connected to the city and to each other. I experimented with a variety of activity some very active while others more passive. I then selected the best platform one that created a safe space and got people talking. This come in the form of a phone booth where you would listen to others story and record your own messages. The video below explains the process. |
